Privacy notice for directors, officers and business owners
1. Who we are (data controller)
BINDA ALESSANDRO, sole proprietorship, Corso Ventidue Marzo 4, 20135 Milan (MI), Italy, VAT IT14153960969, operates S.C.A.L.A. Score (score.get-scala.com).
Privacy contact: [email protected].
2. Who this is for
People who appear in Score as a director, officer or other office holder of a business, and sole traders or freelance professionals who appear with their own business.
You did not give us this data: we obtain it from public sources. Informing each person individually would involve a disproportionate effort, so we publish this notice instead (Article 14(5)(b) GDPR).
3. What data we process
- First and last name and the office or role held (on public company pages, in the "Key People" section).
- For sole traders and freelance professionals: the business name, location (city), sector and the business's economic data as published by the source, which relate to a natural person.
We do not seek or intentionally process special categories of data (Article 9 GDPR).
4. Where the data comes from
From official public business registries and other publicly accessible sources, depending on the country. Where available we show the source on the company page; general rules are described on the Methodology page.
5. Why we process it and on what basis
To make public information about businesses and office holders searchable, supporting transparency in commercial relationships and preliminary checks on counterparties. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in market transparency, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
This notice covers Score's public pages, reports and API. The decision-maker contacts service (Decision-Maker Contacts) and commercial communications are separate processing activities and are not described here.
6. Automated score (profiling)
For each business we automatically calculate a score and grade from public economic data (for example revenue, profit, employees). For sole traders and freelance professionals, the business score may also concern you as a natural person. The general logic and limits are on the Methodology page.
The score is only an informational indicator: we do not take decisions about you based solely on automated processing, and our terms of use forbid using it for credit, contract or hiring decisions. You can object to the score being published (see below).
7. Who receives the data
Information on public pages is accessible to anyone visiting the site. It may be included in paid reports and other Score data products. We use infrastructure providers (hosting within the European Union).
8. How long we keep it
For as long as the data remains publicly available in the official sources, or until an objection is upheld. We keep reports and objections we receive, and our reply, to show that we handled them.
9. Your rights and how to exercise them
You can ask for access to your data, rectification, erasure and restriction, and you can object at any time to processing based on legitimate interest, including profiling (Articles 15-22 GDPR). You can lodge a complaint with your data protection authority; in Italy, the Garante (garanteprivacy.it).
The fastest way is the "Report an error" link on the company page: as soon as we receive your report we suspend the public score and sharing for that page until we have reviewed it (the suspension can take up to two hours to show everywhere because of caching). Alternatively write to [email protected] with the company name or page link. We reply within 5 working days and in any case within one month.
For sole traders and freelance professionals we accept objections to the score. For office-holder data we assess each request case by case.
10. Updates
We update this page when the processing changes and show the date at the top. See also the site's general Privacy Policy.
